About

Hey, I’m Hannah! Thanks for visiting my little corner of the Internet. I'm a junior at the University of Colorado-Boulder studying integrative physiology, hoping to pursue a career in medicine. I get way too excited when I can donate blood, when I walk into a hospital, and when I'm around cadavers, so I've got a gut feeling this path is right for me. I also love anatomy puns.

I have been lucky enough to call Colorado home for my whole life, and fully admit I am so happy I stayed here for college. There ain’t no shame in staying in state, high schoolers. Go where your path leads you.

I started this blog nearly four years ago as a creative outlet and keep it like a journal. I post about everything and anything, from style, decor, travel, to of course, the memories I make. You will find short, unorganized, rambling posts and long, dramatic, emotional posts, all rarely proofread. I like to think of it as "words in the raw", so bare with me.

Here’s a few things you should know about me:

1. I am currently living with my best friend, Mackenzie, in a quaint little apartment where we study during the day but watch documentaries, drink milkshakes, and stay up late talking at night.

2. My maternal instinct kicked in about a decade too early so I'm the resident mother of my friend group. I just like to take care of my babes.

3. Speaking of maternal instinct, I do have an unhealthy love for babies and children. My best interactions occur with those significantly younger than me. However, I could never be a teacher. Mad respect for all the teachers out there (mom).

4. I have a pretty inappropriate sarcastic sense of humor, but lucky for you and your innocence, I don’t share it too much on the blog. I definitely inherited that from my brilliant father.

5. I can be disgustingly sentimental. I’m sorry. I love to make videos to fully relive the best moments in life.

6. I love to dance but I am very bad at it, unlike my sister who is a ridiculously talented twirl girl. I think I love it so much because I am so bad at it.

7. I love to reply to texts using “The Office” gifs, especially to my brother, who kindly puts up with me.

8. “The Cider House Rules” soundtrack makes me extremely emotional for unexplainable reasons. Same with any and all ABBA music. I've got a thing for oldies music.

9. Sonic is my favorite fast food chain. Not for the food, but for the out of this world slushes. Mackenzie and I literally made a tribute to Sonic. It’s where we’ve had some important life revelations and deep conversations about what our purpose even is.

10. Christmas is my ish. Love it more than words can describe. There’s just a feeling that consumes me and brings me to my center. The second I see the aisles of Target turn red and green, I cry a few happy tears.

11. (because 10 would be too predictable) I personally believe there is no better picture than a laughing picture. See above for proof.

While I'd call myself ordinary, I believe there's layers to a person that makes them much more than that. Behind the red hair and crooked smile, you'll find a girl who is thoughtful, fiercely loyal, passionate, always looking for tender mercies, a believer in miracles, and a seeker of grace.

Lover of the little details, acts of kindness, Christmas, stripes, Young Life, The Cider House Rules, fresh flowers, grey, tennis, ABBA, dachshunds, classiness, handwritten letters, Budapest, dance parties, Sonic slushes, gastroenterology, reading, my black cat Jack, Smith South Third, coffee, singing, The Office, bone marrow donors, pretending I know how to take pictures, anatomy, and cute kids.

So this is my journey, my celebration, my love letter to life.
