High Five for Friday!

I am so unexplicably happy that today is Friday. I plan on going to be before 10, and sleeping until 11. Time to play catch up on sleep... and AP Euro.

 1. My new diet- Starbucks cream cheese brownie and green tea- either sweetened with peach or classic syrup. Tennis makes me a very hungry girl.

2. This Caroline G. Shop beauty came this week and I could not be more excited!

3. First tennis match of the season and we won 8-0! Love my French foreign exchange student partner, she is seriously the funniest person you will ever meet!

 4. I go to the bathroom for less than a minute and I come back to find them playing with arrows, that have a nice sharp tip. So help me lord. They are the definition of double trouble!

5. Love me some Jedi. <3

Keeping It Real

The one thing I always forget about the tennis season is how much time it sucks up. I love love love playing, but sometimes it really sucks when you have a dozen other things to do too. ACT tutoring, babysitting, NHS meetings, matches, more babysitting, life just goes by quickly. So I've proclaimed myself the worst blogger ever. I've got to catch up but I don't even know if that will happen this weekend! But spring break is a week away, so then I will get everything sorted out!

So tonight, I'm keeping things real on the bloggity blog. Because life is beautiful, but sometimes a scene of it is messy. (oh my gosh I am so sleep deprived)

This is what my life was looking like up to 11pm.

Hahahahaha oh my gosh that's embarrassing.

So I turned on some music and did a quick clean.
And this is now my view from my cleared off, clean, most comfortable bed.

...and those are all the pictures I got before my camera battery died. But now I'm in bed, watching Netflix, and it's before midnight. Can I get an amen?

PS: Yeah, my pictures suck. I really need a new camera. But guess who's birthday is almost a week away! :)

Serious Recovery

This weekend, Mackenzie had her birthday party and it ROCKED. Seriously, my friends have the best birthday parties ever. But let's just say this party was one where we definitely needed time to recover. Yeah, I needed two Starbucks to get me through the day. Here's a little preview to the madness that went down...

High Five for Friday!

This week has been seriously one of my best sleep weeks all year! (Everyone has one of those, right?) Because of TCAP, school doesn't start for us juniors and seniors until 12:30! Talk about the best week ever! Except I still did have a lot of homework that kept me up late;) Oh well, the weather was great, tennis has started and this weekend is Mackenzie's birthday party which I cannot wait for! Except, it would be great if it didn't snow. Of all the times the weatherman has to predict 8 inches of snow! We'll make the best of it though!

 1. I LOVE carrot cake.

 2. What? Everyone doesn't have a stash of Girl Scout cookies by their bed?

 3. I love sleeping in. And eating blueberry pancakes by myself at 10am, while listening to some Mindy Gledhill.

4. My soul sister! Nobody understands me better than she does!

5. I occasionally spoil myself.

I realize that 4 of the 5 pictures this week are food. Go ahead and judge me. I just know what's important in life. And all the adults always are saying they wish they could eat like a teenager again, so I just look at this as embracing it.

Happily Ever After

"Happily ever after is not something found only in fairytales. You are princesses destined to become queens. Your own wondrous story has already begun. Your once upon a time is now."
-Dieter F. Uchtdorf

On Wednesday night, I had the awesome experience of going to the Mormon church for the first time.  It wasn't actually church (obviously, it was a Wednesday) but it was what they call "New Beginnings." It's where they 'initiate' younger girls into the group, Young Women. My soul sister/BFF Amanda invited me, as she was speaking.

I like to think I know a lot about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints;) about 90% of the blogs I read are Mormon women, and our community has a pretty strong LDS faith, which has allowed me to learn a lot about the religion and all it has to offer.

I was so excited to go on Wednesday night and dip my toes in the Mormon religion! My mom and I put on our best, modest outfits and went with open minds, anxious to hear what they had to offer.

It was so cute to see the wide-eyes of the new little Beehives. They were so excited- I just love how devout they are in their religion.

The theme was "Your Happily Ever After", based on a talk from President Uchtdorf (you should really read the talk, I love it). The room was decorated with wedding dresses, wedding photos from some of the Sisters, certificates, and lace, ribbon, and tulle galore. It was absolutely darling!

Amanda went and gave her talk, and it was absolutely amazing! She did such a great job of being honest, while still making it relatable and cute.

What I loved the most was how much they meant what they were saying. They felt the Spirit with them, and I can tell you, so did me and my mom. It was remarkable. We definitely walked out wishing we were Mormon (sorta;) we still like being Catholic!).

Afterwards, their bishop right away introduced himself, and all the other women and girls were so kind and welcoming to us. We had the most delicious lemon cakes and other little treats. I even got little souvenirs! I just love those Mormons:)
Little cards and cute frames
Amanda and I chatted for a while, planning out our road trip to Utah, and of course, our lives. Seriously, we've got it all figured it out and I CANNOT WAIT! Ten years from now, you'll see Amanda and I living next door to each other, but always being at one of our houses, listening to Mindy Gledhill, doing cute crafts, making cupcakes, chasing around kids, hiking the Y and doing yoga, living the cutest lives ever! I'm not even joking!

I am so honored that Amanda invited me, and that I was introduced to such an amazing faith.
Love you lots Amanda!

“We all desire to be the heroes and heroines of our own stories; to triumph over adversity; to experience life in all its beauty; and, in the end, to live happily ever after. Isn’t it remarkable to know that God's love for you is so great that He has granted you this earthly life as a precious gift of ‘once upon a time,’ complete with your own true story of adventure, trial, and opportunities for greatness, nobility, courage, and love.” –Dieter F. Uchtdorf
 Pretty inspiring stuff, huh?

A Shot at a Silver Lining

Last weekend, I saw Silver Linings Playbook and let me tell you one thing: go see it. It was AMAZING. It was a bittersweet, funny movie that I truly enjoyed. Let's face it Jennifer Lawrence is basically the best actress ever, and totally my girl crush. And definitely my best friend. She got into character so well, that you honestly felt like she was the young widow Tiffany. Her Oscar was well deserved! The movie's raw emotion and honesty really got me; the OCD tendencies of the father, the ever loving mother, it showed how life has it's ups and its downs and how we can make the best out of it. I loved it, and would totally go see it again! Go see it- you will not be disappointed!
love this quote from the movie

PS- This was supposed to post the other day, but I guess I didn't end up scheduling it to post? Some Blogger issues I guess! Sorry for no posts in a while *cough Riley cough*

NLJ

I would like to introduce you all to my new friend, New Leaf Jess.

She is a smart girl, who enjoys not going on Tumblr, doing her homework, and raising her grades.
She meets with her counselor, takes quizzes and tests during her lunch, and spends extra time studying using useful techniques such as watching videos on how to take the derivative of a natural log. Although she longs to go home (aka the land of Tumblr, procrastination, and not so hot grades), she is working to ignore that feeling, and focus on the good things that lie ahead.

I am very proud of New Leaf Jess, as she is making such progress. Before we know it, she will be the most incredible IB student in the state of Colorado. Great job Jess, keep up the good work!
