A Visit to Another Country

This summer could not have started off better!! Last night, we drove up to Jessica's 'country' to have a sleepover and explore all her land. It was incredibly rainy, cloudy, and foggy, but we made the best of it! We were packed and ready in our jeans and sweatshirts along with hiking shoes and extra jackets, with our bandanas on our heads! The drive up there was AMAZING! It was so beautiful, we even saw elk! Once we got there, we dropped our bags in the house and put on our exploring gear and were off!
Me and Mackenzie's beautiful Keens, they proved to be the best shoes to wear!
First, we went to see the four chickens, Prim, Rue, Glimmer, and Cato. Riley, Jessica, and I went in the coop and held them. It was hilarious catching them and holding them. I loved it! Riley really loved the chickens, she spent about an hour sitting in the coop with them this morning.
So exciting!
We then went to the zip line, which was an interesting experience in the pouring rain. After several attempts, none of us made it very far  and started hiking down through the land. We stopped at a ravine for a while and then headed deeper in.
Jessica led the way as Riley and I were the cabooses

While on the hike, that was slightly eerie, Riley and I were behind everyone. Riley then started throwing rocks in trees close to where the other three were and boy oh boy, that scared them! Their screams were so loud and they were scared each time it happened! I thought I was going to pee my pants laughing at them. At one point, Jessica sacrificed me, pushing me down the hill, causing me to run into Mackenzie and punch her in the back with my camera. It was quite the experience! The exploration overall was so much fun and just stunning.
Breathtaking.
We headed back once we reached a tree that would be difficult to cross and there was less light. For dinner, we had hamburgers, watermelon, potato salad, potato casserole (YUM!), and chips. It was a great first-night-of-summer dinner! We then made smores in the wood burning stove. Delicious! Over dinner, we could not stop laughing. When it finally began to die down, Kylee tripped on her way to the bathroom, and we lost it all over again! It was the best dinner ever!
These two have always loved fire
To end the night, we watched hilarious One Direction videos and Tower Heist. Riley, Kylee, and I all fell asleep at the beginning of the movie while Mackenzie and Jessica, who were hyped up with Mio Energy stayed up until almost 2am just laughing and being ridiculous.

This morning, we all woke up at 10:30 (it felt so good to sleep in!) and had breakfast while watching Tower Heist again. Before it was time to go, we went to the chickens and zip line again. The zip line was much easier to do since it was not pouring and we picked up a few tricks after trying so much. Jessica and I went exploring once more, this time going much further than last night. We stopped when we figured it was too poky and difficult to hike without better gear. The land was so green and dense, both of us could not get over how pretty it was. When we got back, we did the zip line a few more times and then Kylee's mom was there to lead the way home.
Nature girls! Scratched up, sweaty, and adventurous!
It was the best way ever to start the summer and I cannot wait to go back so we can explore more! Thanks for having us Jessica!
