Dear Me,
Happy birthday, you are 17! You made it, another year of life is over, and it was definitely one of your best. You're going to want to remember everything from when you were 16, because that's just the way you are.
You love sunshine, but also love the rain. It always put you in a great mood. Grey days were some of your favorite.
You love music, and all kinds of it, but find yourself listening to Mindy Gledhill more than anything. Her whimsical, natural voice makes you as happy as can be. There is never a time when you shouldn't listen to Mindy!
You are OCD about painted nails. They're either all perfectly polished, or all peeled off and naked. It's just the way you are!
You have a loyal group of friends. Loyal in so many ways. From the daily question from Riley about what we do in physics, or being sentimental with Mackenzie during 5th off, you know you can always, always, always count on them.
You have finally learned to prioritize- for the most part;) You have a backup plan for those nights when you just can't read for Euro, and when you should finally say no to babysitting. Take the time to relax and keep yourself centered.
Speaking of relaxing, you can watch Netflix and other online shows like no one's business. You watched a lot of good movies this year, from Steel Magnolias to Little Miss Sunshine, you laughed, cried, and told all you could about the best and worst movies to watch online.
Grey's Anatomy is still your favorite show. Something's never change.
You're favorite foods are popcorn, turkey jerky, Thin Mints, sweet tea, coconut, and sweet potatoes. You definitely take advantage of the whole eating-like-a-teenager thing.
Tennis is your favorite way to let loose and have fun, while still be competitive. You're getting better and better every day you play.
Weekends usually consist of babysitting, but you love it. It's the easiest way to make bank, and the kids always love you more than they love their parents, so it's a win-win situation!
You want to be a doctor, and are working towards it, but have lots of back-up plans, because you want to have a family even more. You know that there is so much in store for you in the future.
Speaking of the future, you don't know where you want to go to college, but will figure it out sooner or later. Wherever you go, you'll love it! You're hard work will pay off!
And perhaps one of the best parts of being 16 was finding blogging, your perfect little niche. A way to write it all down, and share what brings you joy, and what you wish you could change. It's the best way to pour out your heart.
The best is yet to come this year!
xo
